Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Hi:) I see you have made the Basque Country and Catalonia subsections of Spain. Could you do the same for the United Kingdom please if you have time? My tech skills are not up to it, I'm afraid. Thanks 20 (?) United Kingdom 20.1 England and Wales 20.2 Northern Ireland 20.3 Scotland Jameswilson 23:21, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yellow there! Good to see someone doing a bit of tidying up but could you please not get rid of updated info. This is an encylcopaedia so content before design!

A bit of advice, be carefull when dealing with places like the Basque country and Northern Ireland. Even though I don't mind Jameswilson's idea, some people from Scotland and Ireland might not. Afn 11:21, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bel-Wiki

[edit]

Please, read the explanations of needs in Bel-Wiki on: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages#Belarusian_.28Orthography_Revision_of_1959.29_.2819_support_.2F_13_oppose.29 and take off your vote. It's just unargumented. I think that Belarusians WANT (and should) to write in THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE (that they study at schools and universities!..) Thanks for attantion. Thanks for understanding. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Gdarin! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 13 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the article:

 1. Aneta Kręglicka - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:53, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gasikot (talk) 15:25, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ban

[edit]

Dzień dobry!
Szukałem miejsca, żeby się skontaktować. Na szczęście istnieją inne wersje językowe. Więc przechodząc do setna.
TheTNT1500 (talk) 15:06, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dziękuje. Przerzucę wygłupy w brudnopisie na własną eksperymentalną Wikię. Tam nikt nie będzie musiał patrzyć. Brudnopis na Wikipedii zostawię na ważniejsze sprawy. TheTNT1500 (talk) 20:18, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not Hoax

[edit]

Indeed. See my recent talk comment there (the theory was not AFAIK challenged unto 2007, so when it was added to Wikipedia it was not a hoax). I mentioned this long ago at Wikipedia_talk:List_of_hoaxes_on_Wikipedia#Is_Warsaw_number_a_hoax?. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:45, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
